Yesterday was a nice warm 50 degree day in milan, the sun was shinning and it was a great day for fun. Milan is one of the major cities in Italy and thus there are people from all over the world. My friends and I started our afternoon by going for sushi lunch :-) yummy. We tried a new place and this place had sushi boats. The waitress said we ordered four of them which would have been fine if we hadn't ordered about 15 other rolls. oh well we finished it like champs. ( I just didn't eat dinner last night heheh). Next up was checking out the famous Peck food emporium.
One word can only describe such a place from a food lover like my self. Amazing. Upstairs was a restaurant and cafe. In the basement was a beautiful wine cellar. On the main floor there was an entire market with only the best meats, cheeses and deli. Now across the street for some french influence.
Across the street from Peck there is a Ladurèe shop. Ladurèe is one of the best macarons shops in all of france. I for one had never had a macaron so this was going to be interesting but its sugar so what could go wrong. Exactly nothing could go wrong. Macarons are delicious. I will for sure be going back again. They make them with all natural ingredients to get the macaroons colored so bright. Macaroons are so soft and tasty. So france was a success and now to end our trip by going to my home, the states.
Back in the USA I was slightly addicted to coffee. Not those fancy expensive ones but just a regular cup of coffee, drip, with a little milk and sugar. Here in Italy they do have wonderful coffee but it is alot stronger then drip and doesn't last long. Typically you drink it in a few minutes at most. My favorite thing in the states to do is study all weekend with a big cup on coffee glued to my hand as my roommates and family can attest. Therefor, when I found out there was a coffee shop here that sells "the american coffee experience" as they say, I just had to check it out. Arnold coffee did just that. They had a really cute seating area in true milan style that went up two floors and a coffee board just like in the states. But I just ordered the biggest cup they would give me, a large hehe, of black coffee. Oh my gosh nothing has ever tasted so good as that coffee on my lips. I even convinced one of the italians to give it a try and he liked it win. Then we went home it had been a long day. I had a 24 oz coffee and histology notes calling my name.
So in a nut shell we went from Japan back to Italy then off to France and a hop over the pond to the States all in one afternoon without even taking a plane. Wow what a great day. :-)
